in trad climbing, it's a good thing to brake falls slowly, otherwise a hard brake might pull out gear. he's way off the ground, so braking him slowly should not be an issue. i'd rather fall the extra 5m, than slam into the rock face because of the hard brake!

that was a graceful fall. hes crack climbing... theres never bad falls in crack climbing he shoulda just placed another piece it looked like he had time idk. i wasn't up there so i cant say

If his belayer braked right at the moment he fell, he should only have to fall twice the distance he was from his last piece of pro, or maybe 20', NOT 30+. His belayer was spacing off and I would have whapped him.
