Description: A tribute to the underrated 1988 Terry Gilliam (Brazil, Time Bandits, Monty Python) film, "The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen", starring John Neville, Eric Idle, Jonathan Pryce, Winston Dennis, Jack Purvis, a very young Sarah Polley, a teenage Uma Thurman, Oliver Reed, Robin Williams, Valentina Cortese, Sting, and a host of other all-star talent. "The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen" is the fantastic tale of a 17th century aristocrat, his talented henchmen and a little girl in their efforts to save a town from defeat by the Turks. Being swallowed by a giant sea-monster, a trip to the moon, a dance with Venus and an escape from the Grim Reaper are only some of the improbable adventures the group must face. Featuring music from the Michael Kamen score ("The Munchausen Waltz"). |

flug747 ::: Favorites And don't forget the music: After Time Bandits Michael Kamen delivers his second clearly Mahler inspired soundtrack. And with Munchhausen he touched the sky. I mean, this waltz is just heart-breakingly wonderful, isn't it? 07-08-17 22:37:59 __________________________________________________
henryremnant ::: Favorites I love this movie but I love the 1943 version even more. I've put some selections on you tube. henryremnant 07-08-12 08:29:01 __________________________________________________

flug747 ::: Favorites A fabulous movie. One of Gilliam's best. And sadly totally underrated to this day. I remember how outraged I when it stopped playing after a few weeks in 1988. All it would have taken was some decent publicity. But I think Gilliam once told that his studio was bought by Sony while he finished the movie and they were totally uninterested in it. 07-08-09 11:03:07 __________________________________________________
