KodeBloo ::: Favorites Oh geez, just fucking stop it. Its a cartoon. Enjoy it for what it IS. A PRIMITIVE hunter. It's only racist if you're ashamed of your ancestry. I think I'm going to start screaming racist at those Geico caveman commercials. They're denigrating white people's intelligence! (see how fucking stupid that sounds?) 07-10-21 20:28:24 __________________________________________________
b3d ::: Favorites That balck bird later made an apperance in a goodfeathers episiode "Bad Mood Boby". 07-10-21 16:37:20 __________________________________________________
obs7 ::: Favorites GRACIAS!! 07-10-09 19:22:43 __________________________________________________
Marbles471 ::: Favorites A white kid, I mean. This is in contrast to something like "Jungle Jitters", (which appears in the Related Playlist at right :), which IS making fun of blacks as a race/culture. That film is hilarious for its sheer ignorance---they've got crazy stereotypes of African Bushmen speaking like stereotyped black Americans! L-O-freakin'-L. If it wasn't so racist, it actually would be hilarious just because it's so ridiculous. 07-09-24 23:10:16 __________________________________________________
Marbles471 ::: Favorites Even though there were plenty of other cartoons from the same era (and the same filmakers) that by today's standards ARE outright offensive, I don't think the Inkis are, either. (I'm white, though) The reason is that unlike some other cartoons, race is not the joke here. The character happens to be a little Bushman kid, but the stories would work just as well if it were a kid dressed up as a game hunter. 07-09-24 23:04:38 __________________________________________________
Kazafranka ::: Favorites Felix Mendelssohn, Fingal's Cave Overture 07-09-01 08:46:17 __________________________________________________
4a8p9x ::: Favorites The tune is "Fingale's Cave" by Mendehlson (my spelling may not be corrent, but I am sure of the title) 07-08-29 19:11:50 __________________________________________________
DDofCourage ::: Favorites I've been whistling that music for 10 years.. XD 07-08-10 14:54:16 __________________________________________________
PandaMishima ::: Favorites I can see how Inki could be considered racist, with his big lips and bone in his hair. For what it's worth, he never spoke in any of his cartoons (in contrast to MGM's Mammy Twolegs, who did speak but was never fully seen). To be fair, wasn't Inki just a kid? That might explain his behavior, and why the Mendelsohn Mynah looked after him. 07-07-29 02:07:36 __________________________________________________ |
