I love Gary Burton! I remember the first time I saw him was when I was still in high school in Milwaukee. My mom had to take me into the club where he was playing with George Gershwin. It must have been about 1962 at the time. But I've followed his career since then. He is the best.

Nah, yah I know most modern marimba players use Stevens, but I'd thought it'd pretty interesting if Burton knows Stevens. Pretty cool to see an innovator be humble enough to accept other ways of his own creation.

This makes me want to buy a vibraphone again. I played vibes some in college, but my main focus was orchestral percussion. Although his technique is amazing, it's perfectly controlled and the piece comes across with effortless beauty, in my humble opinion. *mind also explodes!*
