Description:

Parody of "M". This is a skit from a TV show in 1963 called "Fractured Flickers", with Hans Conried. In the show, they take excerpts from old movies (mostly silent films) and put their own story and dialogue to them, often with zany results. Here, they do a parody of "M" with Peter Lorre. :)

Holy smeg. I can't believe how well Beckert's homicidal psychosis fits the concept of nicotine addiction... I LMAO at the café scene - the silly little song, the jaw-dropping contrast to the unbearable tension at that point in the original. Also, Gustaf Gründgens as the Marlboro Man. Spiffy.

I cannot remember any other film beside "M" in which everyone of the cast smoked that much...

Revealing my age, I remember coming home from a movie and I had to walk, but I wanted to get there in time to watch "fractured flickers". I don't even remember what the fucking movie was...back then they were showing Steve Reeeves and shit...but that was my show.

Does anyone have any videos of Mad Movies, the sydicated late eighties show that did the same kind of thing. A classic on there was "Devil Doll" with Shirley Temple.

I loved that show. They actually have the DVDs for sale on a site called "cupandblade". Do a Google search for "Mad Movies with the L.A. Connection"

I loved Mad Movies! Oh, I thought they had all disappeared into oblivion. I will certainly be looking those up! :D Haha..."Devil Doll". I remember that spoof! Doll (as Shirley appears to cut at her foot): Cut it off! Cut it off! Shirley: Isn't there anything I can do to satisfy your heathen blood thirst? Doll: Yeah, get me a cheese danish and a cup of coffee!

This clip is hilarious! It's like Fritz Lang directed an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle!

Haha! That's awesome! I can just picture Bullwinkle's memoirs, of how he saw Rocky get ritualistically tortured while filming. Lang: CUT! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! AGAIN INTO THE WALL, ROCKY! Rocky: Gee, Mr. Lang, my head kinda hurts. Can't I just rest for... Lang: AGAIN I TELL YOU!!!!
