Description:
What? Rotating floors? Yes, you heard that right, rotating, every single one of the 68 stories high skyscraper that is planned to to become a part of the Dubai skyline, maybe. It would only cost $330 million, which is a bargain, not? A single rotation would take around 90 minutes, so no problem to get sea sick if you are visiting :) See the article at the Wall Street Journal online here: http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB117625795099465923-WFaTx4FSsy1oW4x8lS4eK1518io_20070418.html?mod=regionallinks |

macrocosm144 ::: Favorites Very cool! ... I highly doubt the building will move that fast. Im sure it was sped up for effect in the video, that said its still quite an amazing design. 07-08-27 03:04:35 _____________________________________________________
DYLANL229 ::: Favorites Theres a building in Atlanta,GA that has arotating top floor but it doesn't move near as fast as this one 07-08-26 23:38:30 _____________________________________________________
nathanaru ::: Favorites wow..that is really cool...Dubai rocks. 07-08-21 00:26:47 _____________________________________________________
bubbaUK ::: Favorites the center part of the building should also hold at least 4 elevators too and both electric and water transfer devices 07-08-20 13:15:11 _____________________________________________________
bubbaUK ::: Favorites Cumbrowski then to build something like that will take a lot of thinking because the center part of the building has to be very very strong to hold the rotating weigth of the entire building. The center part of the buildng has to be made of a very thick steel. 07-08-20 13:12:22 _____________________________________________________
Cumbrowski ::: Favorites Its an office building, sure is it possible. The center axis does not rotate. Restrooms and Elevators will be there. Circular floor around it, rotating pieces attached to that. If you are not in the hurry, you could get to another office without walking :). Something like that. The "Ball" of the TV Tower in Berlin also rotates (there is a restaurant up there), works the same way. 07-08-17 23:21:43 _____________________________________________________
bubbaUK ::: Favorites you guys are funny are you thinking a building like this will be possible??? Where will the water pipes and sewage stuff go.
